Really dont understand the desire for him. Who has come out of Coors and hit well?
Matt Holliday is pretty much the only one that comes to mind.

Kieboom isn’t enough to be the main piece of a deal like that.
If Brinson can headline a deal for Yelich, Keiboom should be enough to headline a deal for Realmuto, particularly if the Nats are taking Castro's contract.

I think this isn't an insane idea since the Marlins have always loved salary dumps, but the Marlins would have to be convinced Kieboom has a big bat and is a future shortstop. And the Nats would have to toss in a couple more pieces. They'd probably slip in Wil Crowe but that just seems way too little.

If the price is that low, surely another out of division team would bid higher.

He was underpaid in 2015-16. Now he is overpaid. It all works out in the end.

what about Taylor?  If he's really the defensive replacement guy going forward, can't Stevenson do that at minimum wage?

Also, it seems there's room to negotiate a bonus or higher salary for Rendon if he'll sign for multiple years.  If he's a $25MM AAV guy on the open market, then 5 years, $125MM plus an option might be a reasonable deal.

Going to be very interesting to see if they offer Roark arbitration or cut bait.  I doubt he's going to get $10 million on the open market at age 32 coming off the season he just had.

Taylor is a better hitter, he'll get tendered. He's our #4 OF regardless of what happens to Harper (I think we trade Eaton if we keep Harper so as not to have 3 LH outfielders and because Eaton isn't a good CF)

He's competing with what they can sign on the free agent market.  I'm not sure they have a good internal candidate for the rotation, given Ross's health.  I don't think they want to be filling 3 spots at free agent prices.  They may only be targeting one spot, have Roark as #4, and have the internals and a Hellickson-equivalent late signing as their budget.

I think you offer Roark arb, try to work out a deal, and pray that he can give you 170 innings of 4.30 ERA in 2019. Filling 3 rotation spots is difficult.

We need a change of identity especially in the locker room.

We dont get a first rounder for Harper

There is no way the Cubs are not going to pick up the option on their best pitcher.

And your offseason puts the Nats well over the luxury tax threshold

He's got 3 years of control left. Seems like a classic Rizzo move. Lots of K's. Lots of walks. Gonna be some stressful outings with him. seemed to be better in a setup role rather than a closing one.
