2018 Playoffs
« Topic Start: September 23, 2018, 10:01:21 PM »
Well, it's baseball, so we have to watch.

Likely playoff teams (* means they clinched)

AL:
Division Winners:
Boston*
Cleveland*
Houston*

WC:
Yankees*
Oakland*

NL:
Division Winners:
Atlanta*
Chicago
Dodgers

WC:
Milwaukee
St. Louis

Colorado is 1.5 back of STL

Post your predictions once slots are locked

(Note: The 2018 Washington Nationals did not make the playoffs)

I'd prefer an Oakland-Milwaukee World Series, just like literally no other people anywhere. But Cleveland deserves to win a title, break the drought, and bring superstardom to their infield of studs.

I like your first idea.

As for the Tribe, they had their chance in '16 and blew it, to the Cubbies (and their insufferable fans) of all teams.  They deserve baseball purgatory.

Ever since Bud Selig moved Milwaukee out of the AL, I hope his team falls flat on their face.

Putting aside the Red Sox, Cleveland is a pretty clear #2 for me.  I still can't figure out how the As did it.  Maybe Khris Davis moves up into the stratosphere with a big playoff run.

As for the NL, I think I'll watch for players.  Love to see Yellich do well, always root for Lester and Zobrist, but, if Colorado sneaks in, they'd be the team I'd root for.

Philly and Arizona officially eliminated.

I'm rooting for the Cubs, simply to see Murphy finally get a ring.

NL: Rockies if they sneak in, Brewers otherwise.
AL: Nats West (Oakland) but secretly I hope familia doesn’t make the roster.

Is this thread meant to be about 2018 or 2019? Cause I will have completely different picks in each season.

Mathguy is the OP, so why do you say that?

Edit - I fixed the title.

Tampa is an affront to the senses, so it is pleasing that the Rays are shut out despite a record that would probably win any other division

so is the only thing in the AL that's alive is who wins the West?  I think Boston clinched best record.

Probably. Up by two games and own the tiebreaker (intra-division record). Which is a dumb tiebreaker.

I'll be watching the A's into the postseason. They're an interesting team this year.
