if I were an Astros fan and they do not win the series, then this would be a call I'd remember for years. I would have loved it if that camera they had right at the fence had not been blocked just when they needed it. I smell conspiracy! More seriously, you have a math Ph.D. to figure out vectors and the like to figure out whether Mookie was over the wall when his arm and glove were pushed. The guy in grey next to the guy in orange also had his hand on Mookie's arm. Were they all reaching over the field? Who knows? From the replays, I tend to doubt it.
In fairness to Joe West, he's the only one who had any sort of angle that could judge the wall. His angle was 45 degrees, but it gave him some depth perception. He's a jerk, but is he rated as inaccurate in the field? By the way, West also (correctly) called I think a Bellhorn homer in Game 7 of the 2004 ALCS that bounced back on the field off a fan at the left field wall in Yankee Stadium.
Meanwhile, you have to listen to Joe Castiglione's call of the Benintendi catch to end the game. He literally falls off his chair during the middle of the call.
