The Nats, then and now, have a lot of good-guy, well-mannered, hard workers, but they live in a bit of a country club world where the Lerner family loves them, GM Mike Rizzo has their backs and fans seldom boo — anything.

As I’ve said before, the Nats need more edge, some abrasive personalities. Not many. Just a little paprika in the recipe. Now if you’re a Nat with an edge, but are not a star — if, for example, your nickname is “Salt,” for a salty disposition, such as Brandon Kintzler — then you may get traded.

He also said he was happy when Werth was doing 100 mph on the Beltway. Showed fire or whatnot...

I'm not good at math,  so is it reasonable to think the NATs can make up 8 behind with 30 to go?  Just asking the experts??

We have 30 to play, the Braves have 32

So if we go 30-0, Atlanta would only need to go 24-8 to clinch the division.  Adjust down from that.  Say we get hot and go 20-10, Atlanta would need to go at least 14-18 to win the division.

So...not reasonable.

Even though he played for the Bucs as the Nats came to town, I never "liked" him.    Not sure why.    It'll be a pleasure to watch Max strike him out.

In the day, I'd borrow my next door neighbor's draft card.    Ya had to be 21 to drink in PA but we'd head to WV and/or OH to quench our thirsts.

Illinois changed from 21 to 18 for a brief few years...2 days after my 21st birthday...

Wisconsin was an easy...and frequent...trip, though...

I'll sneak some beer in. I'm not looking to lose an arm and a leg buying y'all beer directly from the park.
