All this speculation. Maybe, just maybe Rizzo traded Kintzler because he thought he was dispensable? He’s hardly been lights out this year. Suero can do the job and Glover is on the way.

Except Svurluga said it was because he was the leak. He’s a good journalist. He would not just invent that.

I guess the other option is Kintzler told Rizzo it wasn't him - maybe it wasn't - and Rizzo simply did not believe him.

It’s entirely possible that Tizzo traded Kintzler because he erroneously believed he was the leak.

Right. Guy like him doesn't just make crap up or report something like that without a good reason. Rizzo may have also heard he was the leak, thought ok, this guy has an expensive option for next year anyways, let's just move him.

Why wouldn't Kintzler lie? Why would he publicly admit, "yeah, I was spilling all of the crap happening in our clubhouse and being a team cancer" unless he's retiring and writing a book or something?

He's been better than Madson though (who's more expensive right now).

Never understood why they signed Kintzler again. Can't understand why the Cubs want him.

Well, he pitched a perfect inning for the Cubs last night. That's a start (don't recall many of those for the Nats this year).

Kintzler had 16 perfect innings for the Nats this year (out of 44), and he gave up a hit (in 1.1) for the Cubs yesterday so he seems to have declined.

Kintzler is one of those oddball relievers that relies almost entirely on ground balls becoming outs. I know he has been decent but he strikes me as the guy that will one day just completely hit a wall.

Wouldn't it be more productive if he dealt with the problem resulting in "leaks" and pitchers throwing their glove to the ground and glaring at their manager??? Address that issue please Mr.Rizzo
