I've seen him.  Defense looks pretty solid in terms of blocking and tags at home, although I wasn't in a position to judge framing.  Didn't get to see him throw against an actual steal attempt, but arm looked good in warmups.

It's really difficult to judge pitch framing at low levels, simply because the pitcher is so inconsistent. So much of pitch framing is being on the same page as your pitcher and knowing what's coming. Just getting them to strikes in Single A, or Double A even, is an achievement.

Which is fine, because there is a ton of other stuff to learn to do in the low levels. Like blocking and playing defense.

Barrera had his career second 4-hit game last night and has almost as many multi-hit games this season as 0-fers.

Got a call up and played a couple of innings in 2019.  #73 in your program.  On the 40 man and was at the front of the bus with Doolittle at the back during the parade.

Spent the rest of the year in Harrisburg where he had a lot of work.  Line this year was:

101 G, 403 PA, .249 / .323 / .381, 8HR, 46 RBI.  36 BB, 69K. Threw out 29% of attempted steals. Turned 25 in September.

I am hoping we can lock this one up. I would be happy to keep Tres as the #1 option until Gomes comes back and then keep him as the backup. We have been hearing about Reetz - Barrera - Pineda - Read for a few years now. Let's give him a legit shot down the stretch to show he can be a guy.

His defense is good.  Is he better than Riley Adams?

I doubt he gets traded. More likely that at the deadline when Bell and hopefully Cruz are gone, he comes up and there is a three headed monster at 1B, DH, and C between Ruiz, Adams, and Barrera.
