He provided the single most memorable moment of live baseball that I've seen in over 65 years goin' to the Park.

I'm going to sound like even more of a miserable douche than I normally am, but I might be the only person who doesn't even like that memory.  All it reminds me of is that damn series and the horrible loss that followed.  I know I'd feel differently if a deep playoff run had followed within the next few years, but it pisses me off that game 4 was the apex.

I enjoyed watching him and appreciate his leadership turning the franchise around.  It's diappointing we didn't win a ring, or even a series with him, and the injuries were frustrating, but I'm glad Rizzo made that signing.  He paid handsomely, but I think both sides benefited.

I feel like we miss him this year.

I feel like we miss him.  I'm not sure if leadership is the right word, but I think he kept egos in check and kept manager in check and accountable, it seems missing.  I don't think it would be tbe same as a coach though.   Can we sign him and put him on the 60 day DL to just be a presence?

Every Werth moment is followed by a Storen.  It is the Way of the Universe.

I guess I traveled to a parallel universe when I watched the 2018 Caps.

If the story about Nyjer Morgan getting the full extent of Werth's ire for refusing to do the full set of reps assigned to him in ST is true, I suspect people not doing Long's batting drills would be getting an earful as well. He made the team think and act like winners and was quick to lash out at people who slacked off.

I still wonder how he would do as a manager... I'm a bit concerned he'd be too harsh without a seriously good bench coach to kiss the butthurt and make it better, but I think he'd end up with a clubhouse that came with a mindset we haven't really seen with the Nats since before Williams' second year.

It took Werth much longer than the rest of us to realize this actually happened a couple of years ago. He probably checked his bank account and realized he had quit playing.

Karmic equilibrium is being maintained in other ways this month, but that's for Uncensored.

Quote
Werth recalled all the special teammates he shared a locker with, from the great Phillies to Max Scherzer and Bryce Harper with the Nats. But if one player stood out, it was Chase Utley. A “true pro,” according to Werth.

I'm sure he didn't say "a true pro". He likely said "a trooper" for the way he handled that Werth banged his wife.

Now he can use his talents to solve other problems facing society because if you can hit you can do anything. I suggest starting small by bringing peace to the Middle East.

There's really no algorithm for bringing peace to the Middle East.

My sources have told me that is fake news.  Now they did say it was true that Jeff Carter had his way with Scott Hartnall's wife on the Flyers.
