Kudos to Bacsik and Corrales

Great starting pitching performance, he worked very fast, and is very easy to like and root for. He says that he plays every game like it will be his last in the major leagues, and that's easy to believe. Great heads up fielding.

And I can't say enough about Pat Corrales and his defensive positioning. That has made a stunning difference in these games.

Yeah those shifts in the infield were marvelous, they always seemed to be in perfect position to make a play.

It was maddening in the first couple of games how the Reds were able to hit past the shift (how the heck do you do that??!!) ... But the last two games have been simply brilliant  - and Zim's turn end the game was just a thing a beauty ...

It has been great all year, really. There are so many games where hits are taken away by the guys be positioned correctly in the IF or shifted in the gaps in the OF. That's made the pitching that much better, and now with the offensive productivity, it is really paying off.

Corrales is spooky. I remember in a spring training game, he kept trying to get Church's attention in left. When Church finally saw him, Corrales told him to move to the right. No, not far enough, Corrales motioned, MORE. Church stopped, and Corrales gave the thumbs up. On the very next pitch, the batter hit a fly ball to exactly the spot where Church was standing.

Eerie.

Are Corrales shifts startin to work against us. Too amny times in the Detroit series, the players were a step or two outta position to get a grounder. Zimmerman was outta postion a whole lot.
