I hope so.    Also hope Dave gives him a couple of outs on the 3rd time through the order.

Be nice to have a multi-run cushion so Dave can leave him in without taking a loss.

All of our starters have ERAs below 4 and ERA+ above 100 and 4 of the 5 average over 8 Ks per 9. Madson, Solis & Kintzler also have ERAs higher than their FIPs (all of which are below 3), so hopefully some stabilization is on the way.

Maddux is the only good pitching coach :stir:

If he doesn't have the cushion, Dave will go all analytical on him and pull him.

Second game of the west coast swing seems like it usually kills us (I know when I go west for work, Day 1 ain’t bad but Day 2 is brutal), but we have a team .308 average against Richard so this could be fun!

Padres shoulda pulled Tyson Ross before the third time through the lineup last night.

First class travel for these guys. Five star hotels. Pre and post game buffets. And all the travel arrangements taken care of off them.  I have a hard time feeling bad for them.

Bundy of the O's gives up 3 homers and 4 runs in the first...with no outs...

O's have been outscored 44-11 in first innings...

...and the 5th and 6th batters just walked...

Man, I'd suffer through all that for 3 days in San Diego.    Why, I remember 1988 when I slept in a tent at the KOA in Chula Vista  .....   :)

A historical achievement! First pitcher in mlb history to give up 4 home runs wuthout recording an out!

Last time I flew out west, I flew first class (upgrade), had all my travel and meal arrangements taken care of, stayed in a luxury hotel. And my days basically consisted of talking and eating. And by the end of my second day I couldn’t be bothered to string together complete sentences. I imagine I’d be worse if I was doing some athletic pursuit. I know they are athletes, but their playing baseball is my thinking and talking.

I know these guys are well paid but the other guys are well paid too and didn’t have to endure a cross country trip. I’m not saying anyone should feel sorry for them, but I certainly think they deserve some slack for some decrease in performance on road trips. Especially at the beginning.

The Bundy start is being discussed in 3 different threads. We love our Schadenfreude.  :hysterical:
