Weather for upcoming home games (2018)
« Topic Start: April 14, 2018, 09:33:03 PM »
I figured I’d start this one for the season given the weather looks crappy for tomorrow. So.... do they get this one in?

I agree. Today was the absolute perfect baseball day. I’m not sure when they will make this one up if they don’t get it in.

Probably not, but they won't announce the cancellation until 3:00 or 3:30 so that they can sell as many concessions as they can...

Days like tomorrow are great for the Diamond Club...unlimited free food and beer and you get to do it all over again at a later date...

Already scoping out seats in delta club. Last time I did it I ate and drank for 2 hours then sold tix for the makeup game for $350 dollars profit.

So with the new weather policy, how do people think a rain delay/cancellation will play out and go down?

I was wondering why they no longer serve the Jumbo peel-n-eat Shrimp....... When you finally reach hell for all your stealing and conniving ways, please don’t arrive wearing  a tall hat that might obstruct my view.

Go Nationals!

ONLY if you buy them from nationals.com?

https://www.mlb.com/nationals/fans/commitment

So not StubHub?

The original ticket is still valid for the makeup game whenever it’s scheduled. So you can still resell that on StubHub. But you’re right. You can’t trade them in for another game.

We need to start today's game at noon.    In the western hinterland, it's gotten noticeably colder and windier in the last hour.

Yea, looks like exchanges for delayed or postponed games are only for tickets purchased from nationals.com.  Here are a few quotes from https://www.mlb.com/nationals/ballpark/game-postponement

Delayed games: The Nationals are not responsible for and will not provide any refunds or exchanges of any ticket purchased via StubHub or any other secondary market reseller.

Postponed games: StubHub/Secondary Market Ticket Purchases: For tickets purchased via StubHub or another reseller, please refer to the help section of the site from which you purchased your tickets for details pertaining to postponed, rescheduled or cancelled events. The Nationals are not responsible for and will not provide any refunds or exchanges of any ticket purchased via StubHub or any other secondary market reseller.

A friend mentioned that in the past when he bought a ticket on stubhub for a game that was postponed, the holder of that ticket got the make up game.

Not the buyer on stubhub.

The StubHub seller gets nothing and the StubHub buyer gets a ticket to the makeup game only (can’t be swapped for a different game).  Other third party sites don’t have the integration with the Nats ticket offices that StubHub does, so a person who bought from, say, an eBay ad or craigslist post would be at the mercy of the seller, but once a StubHub seller uploads that barcode (which is required in order for the seller to get payment), the Nats know that the ticket was sold and know who the buyer is.

Despite the rainy forecast over the next few days, it's looking promising for this weekend's Diamondbacks series - highs of 68/67/66 over the three days, 20% chance of precip Friday and Saturday.

...okay it isn't exactly a series of balmy baseball days, but when we're sweltering at the ballpark in July/August we'll be looking back nostalgically at weekends like this.

Despite the messy beginning today, the weather is set to improve in time for tonight's Diamondbacks opener - no more than 15% chance of precip the rest of the day. You might want to bring a wrap though, as the temperature is expected to top off at 65.

weather.com currently calling for temperatures in the neighbourhood of 90 for today's Pirates finale and tomorrow's Phillies opener, but also calling for rain Saturday and Sunday (90% and 70% chances respectively - but stay tuned since they often walk these back).

The forecast has been changing frequently. Last I looked, it's not supposed to do anything serious until 10PM. But I haven't looked in the last 20 minutes.

It’s raining at the Pfitz. Just enough to be annoying. I suppose it’s better than roasting in the sun:
