Those who think the integrity of the game is "bullcrap" are themselves full of crap.

There's an argument on both sides and I could go along with sitting Scherzer... except .... we do owe a competitive game.  With Fedde pitching, there's not much chance of that.  I'd go along with Roarke, Ross, or even Gio (if he still existed). Any of those three at least there is a chance of a competitive game.

I mean, pitching Fedde is essentially tanking the last game.  Not a good look.

Healthy Scherzer > "Integrity of the game"

The Gianta are throwing some bum with a 4+ ERA

You make it seem like they are trotting out a radio contest winner. Fedde has pitched games when the Nats were in contention. And they have even won some of them.

Yeah, you don't risk one of the most valuable players in baseball for some other team's benefit. That's no how sports work.

Max’s career ERA in Coors is 5.88. Yeah it’s a small sample size of just 5 games but it’s worth noticing. His highest opponent OPS is Coors by over 60 points and his highest BABIP, opponent BA and slugging are all coors, and his strikeout/walk ratio is more than 1.5 fewer k’s/bb than at Nats Park. None of those mean Fedde is not a step down from Max, but Max isn’t Max at coors field either.

Just keep Fedde on a short leash and keep the bullpen up and ready so the Nats offense has a chance.

As for the “integrity of the game” nonsense, that’s a bit disingenuous when guys can be traded while they’re on domestic violence suspensions, and they’re still eligible for the post season.

Quote
Dave Roberts had a few chances to criticize the Nationals for not starting Max Scherzer today but declined to. He admitted the Dodgers might’ve handled this weekend differently if they knew Scherzer wasn’t starting.

How would he have changed if Max was pitching. That makes zero sense..

Why is Castillo a moron. He’s just quoting Dave Roberts.

So we found Vark's retirement gig!! Apparently he votes for Cy Young winners based on wins, despite overwhelming evidence that overrides it.

Saw earlier that Max has now finished in the top five six years in a row. That’s quite a run.

Fixed it for you.
