2nd Annual WNFF Meet & Greet - 8/4/18
« Topic Start: February 25, 2018, 08:30:00 PM »
I don't think I'm stretching things to say that we all had a really good time together last year.  I know I certainly enjoyed being with old and new WNFF friends.

We owe much of the success last year to our long distance traveler Skippy, who was something of a catalyst for the event.

Unfortunately, some of our members could not attend last years gathering for one good reason or another.

This year, I'm working to avoid the conflicts of the late September time frame, and towards bring in one of our International Nats fans to join us.

So...floating this out there...Saturday, August 4th @ 7:05pm...Nats vs Reds.

Never too early to plan...give it some thought and give me your feedback...

Hmm, gotta see if we can make it. The wedding is the 18th of August and if all goes well, we should be in a house by then too!

Doesn't the honeymoon generally follow the wedding?   :P

FWIW, the Nats go on a road trip from Rosh Hashana through the night Yom Kippur starts, and have a scheduled off day on Yom Kippur.

We are actually headed down to Disney for the honeymoon. She hasn't been since she was 5, and we already kinda did the honeymoon last year when we went to Scotland and Iceland.

It's 600 miles so not exactly a hop skip and a jump   I had been thinking of taking a long weekend and stopping to get my grandson in Orlando and then go to a game but I didn't plan right plus I've had to make the trek to Orlando for different reasons a few times the last couple months and grandma's not really feeling another road trip for a bit :oldy:  Next year for sure though!!!

That is quite a haul...

...we only have to drive 12 h 41 min (890.5 mi) via I-95 S.

Seriously, I didn't realize it was that far for you.  You get a pass, from me anyway, until 2019...

...of course you're not likely to see Harper in a Nats uniform when you're there, but hey...

Versus seeing him in  a green trimmed uniform on St. Patrick's Day, but hey, it's a long drive across Florida.

It's a mere 1007 mile drive for us.

I drove from Saint John, NB to DC; 1300 miles; 17 or so hours.    Quit bein' a wimp.

which national anthem are we going to need to sing?  G-d save the Queen (by the Sex Pistols), Blame Canada, or the Philosophers Song from the University of Walamalu?

Immanuel Kant was a real pissant who was very rarely stable.
Heidegger Heidegger was a boozy begger who could think you under the table.
David Hume could outconsume William Freidrich Hegel.
and Wittgenstein was a beery swine who was just as shlossed as Schlegel.

There's nothing nature couldn't teach 'bout the raising of the wrist.
Socrates himself was permanently pissed.

OK - I needed help on two lines.  Hegel's name and the wittgenstein line.  I had originally put in "Rene Decartes was a drunken fart, 'I drink therefore I am,'" which is the second stanza
