Meh, but better than what the Nats already had, especially with Glover on the shelf.

Plus it’s a super cheap deal. Send Glover to Syracuse. Leave him there for 8 or 10 weeks, let him work on health foremost, and when he’s finally ready, DFA’ing Benoit won’t hurt too badly. If Glover looks like he’s not going to get ready, then go get someone else and DFA’ing Benoit still won’t hurt too badly.

As a fan of the Tigers, I do not want Joaquin Benoit pitching in any game of consequence. Ever.

Zuck:

Quote
Adam Eaton is doing defensive drills with all the other starters. Daniel Murphy is not, still rehabbing his knee.

Zuck tweets that the Nats are working on defensive shifts, something that he didn't seen much of under Dusty

Fire Davey. We don't need this newfangled stuff.

Robles now hitting .400 / .455 / .600 so far this spring.  4-10, 2 doubles, 1BB, 1K.    The OF dynamic this spring is going to be quite interesting to watch.

We should call him Pudge Robles. So much baby fat.

Given service time issues, I think it would take no less than 2 deaths to see Robles early this year.

No need to rush Robles but glad to see him tearing it up so far in the Spring. He's going to be a stud.

If we manage to keep Harper...man oh man will that be some kind of outfield.

Zuck reports Zimmerman is sore and will get a few more days before he takes the field.

Even when 34 leaves, the idea of Eaton-Turner-Robles-Rendon is reallllly exciting.

Harper is a late scratch today due to an ingrown toenail. He missed some time in 2013 for an ingrown toenail that had to be surgically removed; hopefully this can be treated non-surgically.

As someone who has had the ‘surgery’ multiple times, calling it surgical is a stretch

Although I imagine for someone that is on his feet for a living, it could be an extended recovery from minor surgery.
