Just announced: Max for opening day and Stras for the home opener. Yaaaayy!
so equitable and gentlemanly to split it this way.

Nice way to think about it but they really don't care about who pitches the home opener when the season opener is away  (remember Daniel Cabrerra?). Strasburg presumably will pitch the second game (Saturday) and so the following Thursday, game 7, would be his regular day.

I'm wondering though, will they start the season with four starters - since there is a day off Saturday and so Scherzer could start the fifth game -  and bring up a fifth starter for the sixth game; or just start the season with five starters.

they need a 5th by 4/4.  It could be Cole for a time or two even if eventually it becomes Fedde.

Is Reynolds any threat to Difo? Looks like he's had a good Spring. With a new manager, you never know who catches their eye. Regardless, good to know Reynolds is in waiting if Wilmer falters or is injured.

Someone gonna start a GDT for this game with the Marlins?  Pretty sure it is on MASN.

Might take a drive to see him in Indianapolis or Columbus.  The Indy stadium is supposed to be very nice.

Did anyone see Zuck's article on Zimmerman?  He wrote that Zimm has been largely participating with the minor leaguers because he likes the additional flexibility afforded by minor league ST games.  There's no batting order so he can bat in different positions, and even every inning if he wants.  Since it's not a regular game, there's no pressure to perform in front of fans.  Zuck wonders that if Zimmerman has a good season, perhaps other players will want to follow this sort of preparation routine.

I havent had a chance to watch too many of the games, but I'm under the impression that Severino has not been playing much.

Is it a given that Montero will be on the OD roster as the backup C?

Ok, they literally answered this question and my Sanchez question in the GDT.

Bench will look like:

Adams - IN
Wifo - IN
Kendrick - OF/IN
Goodwin - OF
Severino OR Montero - C

No Sanchez and it looks like Severino is still in the running.

With Murphy opening the season on the DL, they'll need another IF.

MLB Network showing tonight's game on at 7:00. But I'm seeing a 6:10 start so maybe they are joining in progress. Would be the Mets tv broadcast.

Thinking Reynolds is getting that gig.
