He was really good. Steelers are good at developing young receivers so I would be pleased with the pick if I were a steelers fan. They don't need him to be an immediate contributor so that's a plus.

There may be somethin' going on behind the scenes.    Some of the Steelers' WRs have issues.

Watching the draft...Rich Eisen just referred to a player going to "Matt Patricia's Lions."

 :smh:  Will it never end?

Rich Eisen is one of the worst football personalities out there.

I lost track of how many times the Pats moved back in the draft or traded a pick for a 2019 pick.  I think they did it twice in the 4th round, at least once in the 7th, and maybe a couple of more times over the past couple of days.

If everyone is guessing, the best way to be right is to have more guesses

I read somewhere they’re stockpiling ammo to get their QB of the future next year, just hope we don’t need him THIS year :nervous: I do love love love the Sony Michel pick

Is he pronounced like Cher's old singing partner and husband or is it pronounced like the maker of Wega TVs and Betamax videos?

It's the beginning of the end for that dynasty--everyone is unhappy.  And you can try and replace Brady but it won't work. He is a once in a  generation talent.

Edmunds bothers from VT were the first to be both drafted in round one. They will join their older brother who already plays in the NFL.

Did you even read beyond the clickbait SJW Twatterverse headline?  Fourth paragraph invalidates this even being “printed”:

With no trial, there was no finding of guilt for either man, and the case was dismissed in January 1997.

Wonder what the application process is?  I know for government jobs you are required to report all arrests/indictments. Apparently the Lions are ok with this. Of course they would be in a major bind if they lost him now. Just give him a year or two and he can fail on his own.

The Detroit News article from which Deadspin excerpted its report.
https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2018/05/09/matt-patricia-indicted-sex-assault/34742627/

Does seem unusual that they went to the grand jury / indictment process without the accuser being willing to testify. The prosecutors must have wanted to make this case pretty badly to pick this one to make a show that they do go after college kids who go to south padre for the party.

Who put the Detroit News onto the story? None of the prosecutorial staff even recall the case. The accuser apparently still isn't talking, so it isn't a #MeToo moment. I'm going to guess they were putting together a background bio piece on the new coach and talked to college contemporaries who recalled spring breaks with the frat bros and football players down on South Padre. Nice leg work on the News's part.

the NFL and the Lions said they check for convictions, not indictments.

I wonder if Detroit news just had someone search a bunch of databases- deadspin claims they found it fast, but they knew what state to search
