Pitch clock is the smartest thing ever, we've got it for our AA team and no pitcher ever has an issue with it.

"Reduced mound visits" should be reduced to zero for coaches/managers, and two per team per game for anyone else.  I'm tired of catchers waddling out to the mound once every other batter.

Clearly the pitch clock applies only with no runners on base.  But the article doesn't mention that.

Make it a requirement that batting gloves are held on with zip ties. Problem solved.

I understand in addition to a pitch clock there is also going to be a base stealing clock. If a base runner does not make it to the next base in a certain time period he will be called out automatically. There is also a proposed corollary if the pitcher has to throw over to his base two times he must attempt to steal on the next pitch.........all in the interest of pace of the game

Good. I love Baseball but there is no reason it should take over 3 hours to finish a game. 7 PM games should be done by 9:30.

I'd love to see regular season games get down to 2:45 or so. Once we get to the postseason, I don't really care how long the games take, most of the time. The tension and drama overrides the length of the game.

Apparently  on the ESPN Golic and Wingo radio show, Rob Manfred said that the motivation behind the automatic runner on second for MiLB extra innings is preserving the arms of pitchers who are still developing, and *not* speeding up the game. He apparently also said this rule is not MLB worthy. I didn’t actually hear the show, hence use of “apparently”, so hopefully ESPN will publish a transcript or write up.

No. Greenberg left to do a morning show on ESPN that starts this spring. Those two hated each other at the end the tension was palpable.

Hmm. Well thanks.  I'm not sure which was which. There's the sissy and the fat slob. The sissy is very smart but the sissy persona got old years ago.  The fat one is an idiot who has nothing to offer.  I listened to them on and off and my impression was that when they were talking strictly sports they were very interesting (the sissy one anyway) but whenever they tried to be funny or address social issues, etc. I had to change the channel.

Golic - the big guy - is a boorish lout who has to repeat everything he says 3 or 4 times because he thinks he's so poignant. 

I listened to them individually when one or the other was on vacation, and determined it was Golic that made the show so dreadful.  He's even worse than Grant Paulson...and that is really saying something...

I agree, he's obnoxious.  But I enjoy listening to him when he's talking about sports, and not about himself.

The increased pace of play was noticeable and welcomed during yesterday's game. I especially like limiting mound visits.
