Sean Miller "vehemently denies" reports that he arranged payment to player.   It would be bold to deny something that you know to exist on tape.

might as well, Arizona doesn't have access to that tape and he's going to keep getting paid if they can't prove anything.

From Mark Schlabach:

Quote
Outside counsel Paul Kelly said law firms working for Arizona don't have access to FBI wiretaps & haven't been told what's in them. "Those items are subject to a court-imposed protective order, and only the charged defendants have access to those materials," Kelly told ESPN.

Not for an NCAA coach. They think every game call goes against them. An alternate reality.

UVa had a great 3 point shot with .9 sec left to beat Louisville

I think the whole neighborhood heard the screaming from our house last night. What an utterly bizarre finish. The commentator saying "ballgame" when UVA got called for the lane violation on the third free throw just underscores the whole thing.

Louisville's coach is blaming himself, and it's hard to argue that someone didn't drop the ball in forgetting to remind that kid that he couldn't run the baseline there. While the players are supposed to know the rules, the coaches have to remind them of that sort of thing.

Ain't nothing compared to Mason's Ian Boyd, who hit shots with under 1 second to go to beat Saint Joseph on Feb 21, UMASS Feb 24, and VCU Feb 28.

Has anyone ever hit three buzzer beaters for wins, under 1 second each in a row?     I'm thinking not.

I'm watchin' a bit of MSU/WIS.    Wisconsin kid goes down the lane and makes a layup.   Izzo is angry.   He thought there should be walking/traveling.     TV crew goes to slow motion and the kid took three steps.    Announcers said it only looks like steps in slow motion.   Guess that's like the Eurostep.

Who cares, it’s just some kids doing an extra curricular activity

they do seem to have abandoned the whole concept of having a pivot foot.  So many times they pivot on one foot, pause, then pivot on the other one and nothing gets called.

I was thinking along the lines of "it'll beat watchin' MD".

Why is the Big Ten men's tournament a week earlier than all the other major conferences? What will they do next week? And don't tell me "go to class."

Rasslin'/Big East in the Gawden next week.

OT   B1G tourney should never be east of Cleveland or west of the Mississippi.

Aren’t they students? The real answer is that the big ten wanted to play in msg (because that’s big 10 country?) and the big east has the better dates already booked

Agreed. They could have booked Cincy for any days they wanted.

I am sure if teams lose in March madness they will blame the layoff.

Maybe they think the Gawden is New Jersey U's (Rutgers) home court.      I was thinkin' Cleveland, Chicago, Indy, etc.    Cincy's more of an AAC or Missouri Valley Conference (:old:) place.
