I was at Game 1 of the NLDS. The Cub fans were pretty silent as long as Strasburg was mowing down Cubs. They only took over the stadium because their team took over the game.

I'm sure Royce has satellite anyway...

Nah, I think he likes wet paper grocery bags, bad haircuts, turnstiles that don't turn, crowded subways, and pouring coffee on himself.

If the Nats and Red Sox play in a World Series together, I fully expect a third of Nats Park to be dirty filthy Sox fans.
hey, I bathe, but I've been living down here continuously since 2003.

It's been worse when the Red Sox have visited for a regular season game

Oh I meant all those other fans. They’re the dirty filthy ones. You smell like warm, freshly baked cookies and love.

Well, I had lived here before that, but then went back to Boston for 5+ years.

JCA is a very sound sleeper, and really should invest in a home security system.

In truth, the warm, freshly baked cookies aroma wasn't me.  I set some out for Santa.

I was talking to this guy the other day and he was lecturing me on how things have changed in DC since he's been here. And then I found out he's been here since 2005. :hysterical:

He doesn't know what he doesn't know.

Our last trip there, there were a lot of jerk Pittsburghers.  I had to confront several and involve security.

In Cincinnati you can park right by the stadium for for $10; now that is civilized and that is a real home team discount

When I brought the usher down to deal with 2 drunken loudmouths in the front row, people in black and yellow were giving me the thumbs up.  At least I think that is the digit they used.   :D

They should have dealt with their own, IMHO...

"Home team" discounts aren't a thing nor should they be. An athlete's window to earn is only open for so long. Get what you can while you can get it.

I have taken jobs in places where I would make less money because I liked the location or situation better. I’m not sure why a ball player couldn’t consider doing the same.

Especially in their situation where"less money" still means more money than god but there is that ego thing with the player and the agent and to them it is just like Monopoly board game money

To be fair, I don’t think BlueStreak or any of us has had to have proactive IV bags of fluids in anticipation of doing our job standing in the sun for 4 hours on a 97* day in August in full catchers gear,  ended up with spinal fusions in our necks, had a wrist or jaw broken by a fastball, or had whatever the fresh hell happened to Aaron Barrett’s throwing arm during rehab. Yes there’s an element of ego but there’s also a real risk of significant injury, and that warrants a higher pay scale than those of us who sit at a desk and poke around on a keyboard all day.

MLBPA is also a factor.  The union will squawk a fair bit if you are perceived to be devaluing talent or bringing down the average price for things overall.
