Long's son, Jaron, is a pitcher in the Nationals' organization.

Hello strikeouts

The Mets struck out less year than the Nats.

The Mets struck out less year than the Nats.

Because Cespedes only played half the season and they traded Bruce.

For his tenure with the Mets, the Nats have had a lower K rate.

Team K%

2015 - Mets 21%, Nats 22%
2016 - Nats 20.2%, Mets 21.3%
2017 - Mets 20.9%, Nats 21.4%

Mets average 21.07%
Nats average 21.2%

Not sure how you math.

Read the chart wrong. Thanks.

Still, Long sucks. Then again don't see how a hitting coach is going to help a team full of chokers.

Many a Yankee postseason saw cold bats with him at the helm, so there's that

His real name is Long Duck Dong

an exchange student who no doubt would have trouble getting into the country today and given what he did to grandpa's car I think that is a good thing

Inserting a Chien-Ming Wang line would've spiced it up a bit.

I don't buy evaluating hitting coaches at this level strictly on numbers.  We're going to have good numbers this coming season, just like last season, because we have a bunch of great hitters.  Long isn't going to make or break them, especially since our core is full of vets.  He changed Murphy's career in the past, but guys like him, Zim, Harper Rendon...what's he really going to change with them?

We don't know if he's the problem, but there is some disease, some contagious disease, that has inflicted nearly the entire team.  I guarantee you, if Dusty were manager there would be a cure.  If Long is the disease, he'd be gone.  The man to fire is Martinez.  This has become a travesty and the team is an embarrassment and is unwatchable.

I don't know that it's Long.   For all I know there could be a full mutiny in the clubhouse. Harper refuses to do  drills that Long gives him.  How does Harper get away with that?  Because he's a freaking prima donna?  Do your own drills when they work. When you  play as crappy as you do you do the drills that the hitting coach tells you to do.

Something's going on, something terribly wrong, and it's time to change managers.
