They’d have to be so careful about in race gags that it wouldn’t be worth it

Yeah, I thought that through after I typed it. :D

I want the people to know that they still have 2 out of 3 branches of the government working for them, and that ain't bad.

John Hanson

First President of the Continental Congress, right?  Also where all the greasers in Oxon Hill went to junior high school when they weren't flashing switchblades outside the theater.

Speaking of Garfield,

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004J4X33O/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1

Great read.
You wonder with Garfield whether the progressive era would have started 20 years before Teddy Roosevelt.  You also had the probability that the Ds would have simply become the agrarian party rather than the progressives that eventually emerged with Wilson.

He was the first president under the Articles of Confederation.

If they wanted to troll Donald Trump into a Twitter meltdown they could make it Trump and have him lose every race a la Teddy. Or... they could just add Obama to the race.

Or make the next one Hillary.  No rule that it has to be a president.

Well except for the part where they're called the Racing Presidents.

They could use an old outfit for George Washington and just say it is Barbara Bush.

[who I think is terrific, but how did she end up on the $1 bill?]

What I'd like to see is a race between Hillary Clinton and Monica Lewinsky.   Hillary in a pants suit and Monica in a blue dress.

As long as HRC is in a pants suit, might as well also have Mao's last wife in the race too.  Give the race more of an international flare.

HRC, Jiang  Jing, Indira Gandhi, and Golda Meir.

Imelda Marcos Seems like a logical fit there
