Yeah, I'm not a huge fan either.

Remember, he was just sent down last year for awhile because he was struggling.

yeah but Bonds fixed him.

I do a deal similar to Eovaldi. Give him some guaranteed money for next year knowing we won't need him with a good club option for the year after. If he's ready in 2019, we are good.

Cardinals give a qo to Lynn. I wonder if he’d take it.

Probably not. He should be able to get a longer deal near that price.

Trade Bryce for what?  How does that help us win a title in 2018 by getting rid of one of the best players in the game?

This plus he doesn't have a fifth bench player. Even tho Lind has been declined if he doesn't get a great offer I hope the Nats will get him and Kendrick back.

I'd love Lind and Howie to return, but I would rank filling out the bench pretty low on the offseason priority list.  We got Lind last minute for 1 mill and Howie in a trade for...I don't even remember what we gave up.  I think we can figure the bench out in time.  I mainly want catcher upgraded and I'd like to see maybe another top bullpen guy added as well as another mid-rotation starting pitcher.

Buster Olney is reporting teams that have contacted JD Martinez have said he is looking for 200 mill.

Over how many years? I'll give him a 20 year, 200 million deal.

no word on years but im guessing that would be 7 years. Boras is trying to play off the deal that Upton just got.

NatsGM's offseason manifesto - Par1 - Pitching:  http://natsgm.com/2017/11/13/the-2017-2018-natsgm-washington-nationals-offseason-manifesto/

1. Sign Scott Feldman as SP#5
2. Trade Goodwin and Gutierrez to the Tigers for RHP Shane Green (replacing Kinzler and providing a backup closer)

Why Feldman? Just start Cole and get the same performance at a fraction of the cost.

If we're getting a pitcher, we need to trade for a top of the rotation guy.

I disagree. Cole has been mostly a turd and I expect us to use 8-9 starters next year. Cole being our #5 rather than #6 or #7 is terrifying, because we literally have no one after him.

I don't see how we have the resources to acquire a top SP unless we're just signing someone and I don't see that, either.
