I don’t think it’s a given he gets worse. He seems to have figured it out, especially at the end. And coming through in the postseason certainly will give him confidence.
I think his floor is 2.0 WAR, but I think his ceiling is a 4-5 win player.
But the worst thing for his performance would be not making him the opening day starter.
It's not a given, but it's more likely than not. A .363 BABIP is very high and he's still swinging at too many pitches out of the strike zone. Basically all that changed this year is that he hit more in the air - which is great, as he has a lot of power - but also something that pitchers might adjust to. It looked to me like they already were - he was getting a lot fewer fastballs near the end of the year and a lot more down and away, irrespective of that tomahawk off Hendricks.
