I don't know about his left field abilities, but then, they're not any worse than Werth's.

Maybe.   But maybe he's more valuable as the top pinch hitter.

.865 OPS as a starter. He should start against RHP and pinch hit against LHP. Platoon him in LF with Kendrick and bring Robles in for defense late.

He's going to get paid nicely to DH next year.  Won't be a bench player in the NL.

I've been following baseball for 60 years.  Lind is the best pinch hitter I've ever seen.

Every time I see that surname, I think of Jose' Lind.    He played for the '92 Pirates that lost to the Barves in Game 7   ...   in fact, the Bucs were leading 2-0 in the bottom of the 9th and his error let the game tying run get on base in the bottom of the ninth.    We all know how that turned out.

I don't think Lind will get a start this series. The win last night might give Baker and Rizzo the idea that they should roll with their starters or they could decide to make one change and if it's between replacing Turner or Werth I think they will stick with Werth.

I don't think so. I posted my thoughts in the Scherzer thread stating that I believe they should replace Werth as Turner is just pressing to meet expectations by the pundits when he was anointed a difference maker. Dusty will calm him down. Werth , at this point was given his due , by starting the last two games . It was his reward for everything that he has meant to the franchise. Now it is time to win a division championship.

Starting Werth and winning a series are not mutually exclusive events

Werth is 0-8 in the series and seems to be lackadaiscal in the field or just slow. He needs to be replaced if we want to win.

Werth means a lot to this Clubhouse.  But to win a Championship, I think we need the better hitter/fielder.  It's important to make a change.

if they go to Lind, it'll be against a righty. FWIW, he's 2 for 9 with double and 3 Ks v. Quintana.

Lind should keep PH-ing. I'd start Goodwin over Werth.

Lind can DH for us when we get to the World Series.  8)
