At least we won't have DOUG FISTER going for us in our Game 3. Spending megabucks on starting pitching is gonna become a thing of the past (Brian Kenny is onto something). You can always find a Bauer or a Hendricks who are just a hair below the Strasburg's or Scherzer's. Or, for that matter, our own Gio who, this year, fit that definition for us.
Always wished for a more potent lineup. Sure, this year we got unexpected contributions from Zim and Taylor and Goodwin but had that not happened ...
I don't have the stats but while the Nats averaged a decent number of runs per game, how often was their offensive "eruption" basically one big inning and then a bunch of 0's for the rest of the game?
Would you rather have the Astros or Cubs or Dodgers everyday lineup or ours? If we're gonna win, our pitchers are gonna have to pitch like Stras did through the first five innings last night.
