Coincidence we suspend the hitting coach and have the worst offensive performance in history on the same day?

I went to the Cubs forum to see what they were saying and look, they are actually talking about this thread.

My personal favorite quote

“get a load of the hot takes by this slate guy

also half their board still doesn't know kyle's name”

“I'm glad we've basically shamed away most posters like that guy.”

Slate is becoming an national celebrity.  Can we trade him to the Cubs board?

I went to that site last night for schadenfreude and couldn't even enjoy it. It was a combination of complete surrender(in the 7th inning they were discussing offseason plans), and terrible opinions that looked completely genuine(DFA Rendon, bench Harper, etc).

They are feeling sorry for us.  It must be weird for out of town fans to visit DC sports forums and find that we are all expecting our teams to lose.

Also from the Cubs board:
Quote
Posit Kyle Hendricks is the most dominant postseason starting pitcher of this era.

Madison Bumgarner might have a thing or two to say about that claim.

Major PTSD triggered by last night's dead-fish-handshake of a playoff opener.

I can't tell if Slate is trolling or just being a moron.

He is the biggest idiot I have ever seen on any message board. For real. He ruins this place. Just a miserable, rotten POS human being.

2 freaking hits.

You can't make this up. This vaunted offense chokes in the playoffs. Who knew that would happen? What a bunch of wusses

Strasburg was outstanding? Strasburg choked.

Easily the worst post of 2017.

Rendon and Turner need to be sent to the Padres, aka baseball purgatory.  They're going to cost this team two consecutive postseasons.

I wish Turner would bunt more.  Imagine if he had bunted for a base hit to lead off the game, and stolen second? We might have scored in the first.  I might even tell him to bunt several times a game in the playoffs if I was manager.

Is this the only messge board you frequent?  Slate seems reasonable compared to the idiots on most of the OOTP boards, Extreme Skins, and anything dealing the Vagina Tech CHOKIES.  Those Cubs posters probably live in some g-d awful hellhole like Naperville or Lincolnshire and live for their glory days as Chads on Halstead before they got TROG trapped in middle management at CDW.

But even if it's the only one, he has several screen names here so that should count for something.

I need to post on this board more often. Remember when the O’s board gave you and a me a shoutout over our Amber T comments and that one dude wanted to buy us a round at Sliders?  I need these Cubs fans to start offering up drinks at Borderline and amateur night at the Admiral for our quality HOT TAEKS.

Probably 2012. Right before I went to rehab for the fourth time so I’m pretty sure it was 2012.

I don't give a crap how he produces, I just want it to happen already.  Tired of seeing so many automatic outs in the lineup come playoff time.

Guys who can't play in the postseason need to go play for the Padres or Mariners.  They can be regular season heroes where that crap would be appreciated.

He's had better performances, but yes, if you take into account the importance of the game, best game ever.

They clearly love Hendricks, to the point where I think they get offended if they feel he isn’t getting proper respect. I mean “best postseason pitcher of a generation?” Not sure that is even true on his team and it’s certainly not true in a world in which Madison Bumgarner exists.
