This is the year folks.

NLDS: We win 3-1. We'll split the two games at home, but go into Wrigley and win both.

NLCS: We'll drop the first 2 in LA, but win 4 in a row. One of our SPs will pitch an absolute playoff gem at home(I'm thinking Scherzer will have a complete game double digit K game).

World Series: Similar to the Red Sox in 04, with the monkey off our back we steamroll whoever the AL puts out and win in 5.

fwiw, my season of iOOTP ended with the Nats winning the east and facing the Cubs in the first round of the playoffs.  We won 3-0.  In the 2nd round, we faced the Dodgers and lost in 7.

Hopefully that's not a precursor.

My predictions:

I had Yankees beating Twins but 1 game proves nothing. It is absurd. You need a best of 3 at the least and schedule some double headers or do what should have been done years ago, and reduce season back to 154.

AL:
Indians over Yankees
Astros over BoSox
Indians over Astros

NL:
Arizona (again..one game..Arizona def the better team..BUT...it's ONE game..)

Nats over Cubs (homer take, kinda worried actually)
Arizona over Dodgers
Nats over Arizona

Nats over Indians

Go Curly W!

I couldn't decide if that was better or the Astros having the little hat running around all over the place...

Nats beat the Cubs in the NLDS and lose in the NLCS to whomever they face.  After that, who cares...

The Nats get bounced in the first round again.

This team will continue to have problems in the postseason until they can figure out how to win playoff games at home.  2-6 all-time at Nationals Park.

Cubs in 4.

Get ready for the hosing of the century. The Lords of Baseball want a Cubs-Dodgers NLCS so bad they can't sleep at night - especially with a good possibility of either Boston or New York going through in the AL - think of the media markets! the fan nations! the ADVERTISING DOLLARS!! We'll win one of the first two at home (they'll let us have that), but after that our pitchers are going to go for innings on end without getting a non-swinging strike call...

...all amid endless cackling from the commentators about fans leaving early (because Metro is about to close) and all the tens of thousands of people in FuzzyCubbies Blue in the stands, all proving that Washington isn't a baseball town and didn't deserve the Nats.

You heard it here first.

Metro won't be an issue if it's over in 4...

Metro won't be an issue if it's over in 4...

Game 1 could be a problem: starts at 19.30 and the last northbound Green line train leaves at 00.52, but in reality people will have to leave earlier than that to be assured of catching connecting trains on the other lines - and also avoiding the inevitable crowds from this sold-out fixture. (Don't forget that in general, post-season matches last quite a bit longer than regular-season ones because of the added commercials and pre-match pomp-and-circimstance.)

game should be decided by the top of the 7th so there should be plenty of time to make your train. :stir:

The game would have to be 5 hours long for Metro to be an issue and honestly a lot of people are going to be rolling out then anyway, because as you get closer to 5 hours, your butt falls asleep and you start to sober up.

Went golfin' today and saw a guy with Nats' gear on.    Sez to him, "Nats in four."     He sez, "Nats in anything."

We lose the first two games of the NLDS at home, then forfeit the series.
