Not a fan of Roger Dean Stadium (although you can’t beat the convenience of having a Marriott Courtyard right across the street). I’d rather stay closer to WPB and catch 2-3 games there before heading to Lakeland for Nats at Tigers.

Luckily, I have a small mountain of hotel points for 3 different brands so I have a ton of flexibility without having to fixate on costs.

We stayed near City Center last year...gonna stay on Singer Island this March.

Il Bellagio in City Center was fantastic Italian food...

It is the rich man's game and baseball owners are masters of it. Get the work done; find something to complain about; hold out till the poor contractors are desperate then settle for .50 on the dollar and maybe before you settle make them squeal by having to file a law suit.....just for kicks

4 game flex packs went on sale this morning.  Requires you buy the 3/17 Mets game, and then 3 others of your choice...

Ballpark of the Palm Be aches Home of the World Champions

I would hope those banners proclaiming such and sure to hang everywhere in the stadium might "grind" to use and over used word on the players......but I doubt it

Place holder so we can start to think warm thoughts.  The Nats haven't released their reporting dates yet, but for most clubs pitchers and catchers report between 2/12 and 2/15

First game: 2/25 vs Atlanta

Pitchers and catchers will report to the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach, Fla. on Feb. 14 for the club’s second spring training at the facility. Position players will report on Feb. 19 and the first full-squad workout is scheduled for Feb. 21.

Washington is slated to have two days of workouts before beginning their 32-game Grapefruit League schedule on Feb. 23 against the Houston Astros, their fellow tenants and defending World Series champions. The Nationals will be the “visiting” team for the opener and will play 18 games at their home ballpark — 15 as the home team. A year after a rushed opening of the ballpark, the facility is expected to be better prepared for the two clubs this season.

The Nationals close their exhibition slate with a game against the Minnesota Twins at Nationals Park on March 27 before opening their regular season on the road against the Cincinnati Reds two days later.

Ballpark at the Palm Beaches Construction Continues

https://ballparkdigest.com/2018/02/09/ballpark-at-the-palm-beaches-construction-continues/

...since the Astros and Nationals left town in April, construction crews have been busy fixing and replacing shoddy work from the hectic rush to open on time in January 2017.

The Braves are citing the Nats/Astros experience as the motivation behind delaying their own move, pushing back from 2019 to 2020.
