Blackmon is playing right now and is 1-3 today, he briefly took the lead in his first AB, but has since dropped back again. Turner didn't play today. Harper is going to have to play the next seven games, rack up the hits, and hope to get close enough to 502 PA so he can absorb any shortage.

I suspect the real reason behind this bout of flu is specifically to prevent Harper from contending for the title. Probably the smart move to not have him insisting on playing every inning and going 110% in games that don't matter.

I don't think that shots cure the Nats flu, a very strange strain of the disease that comes on quick and passes just as quickly.

Flu vaccines only prevent a few strains of the virus. For everything else, it simply mitigates it.
