Good thing we stretched Max out...paying dividends...

Clearly he's working on something for the playoffs

What about Stras, no chance at Cy Young?

Turner has 41 steals despite missing what, 6 weeks?

He's barely played over half the season. He's going to steal 80 at some point.

Stras reminds me of Camilo Pasqual in 1958, hard thrower with great stuff and posted an ERA of 3.15 but finished 8-12.  On June 5 he pitched 13 innings against KC but lost 2-0 in a complete game for the effort when Woodie Held hit a 2 run homer in the 14th. He even hit a triple, going 1 for 5.   All 3,652 fans in attendance got free baseball and the game lasted 3:10 which was shorter than the ESPN game Sunday night.

They better not stretch Scherzer to 140 pitches tonight.

112 pitches.  So maybe he wasn’t lying last start...and he certainly looks better.

Like I said, I think that was only partly the truth.

Well Rusty and Stubby Clapp played a year for the Saratoga Stallions in the short A league in 1952 but Stubby had to sit out a year while the antibiotics worked and Rusty went on to team with Camillo in the Cuban summer league.  Later he roomed with NoSpinZone and I'm not sure whatever happened to Rusty.
