Why is Doolittle pitching in a 7-1 game?

Probably because he hasn't pitched in a few days. Keep him sharp. Same reason as Strasburg still starting.

All this plus it looked like Dusty had the relievers set up while it was still a save situation.

In retrospect, I should have planned my trip a day later. That being said I'm calling it. The Nationals are getting jewelry this year. I claim it in front of the old gods and the new.

He has not pitched in awhile. Also with his injury history you dont want to warm him up and not use him. Dusty said Oakland's manager gave him that advice

Plus by the time it wasn't a save situation, there wasn't really time to get someone else ready.

I thought that "plus" was intended in my "plus" comment.    Apparently,  I assumed and was non-plussed by the surplus "plus".

It made sense in my head last night.

There was beer involved.

very nice game, in the end.  if they were going to only (sadly) win one game against LA, I'm happy it was the national game...

I thought it hit the line.    Talkin' heads said they didn't see the chalk kick up.    Were you in the N & S Club?     :)

Yes, great place to avoid the riff-raff you find up in the upper decks.
