if I'm into something I can retain even the most irrelevant minutae that I've read but something that bores me? I can't remember a sentence I just read, I wish they would've had ADD diagnoses when I was in school 
My brother-in-law was an elementary school teacher. He said all the males in my family are ADD ... most of us undiagnosed. I don't know if he's serious or not but I have many of the same issues mentioned previously.
