I wouldn’t call it meaningless since making the playoffs is a prerequisite for winning the World Series. At least the last time I checked.

Nationals have real problems with 'speed' teams. If the Braves continue to build with speed and the Nats don't figure a way of dealing with that, there could be a new NL East leader very soon.

...and the Mystics lost heavily last night as well - not a good day for the local sides.
