The only question that remains is will you start Stras on short rest? If so, he should start Game 1 or 2. If not, play the splits and give him the most important game in the series (Game 3)

Game 2 starter can start on regular rest for game 5.

Game 2 starter can start on regular rest for game 5.

And Game 1 would be early for Game 4.

If I'm Dusty I pitch Max game 1 because I think he has the fortitude to go a day early if needed.  Strasburg is a little more delicate.

You don't pitch a guy early unless you are facing elimination.  Let's hope we aren't facing elimination by game 4.

Because Scherzer is having problems with his calf again and due to the fact that Strasburg has been lights out since his DL stint let Stras start game one. It gives Scherzer an extra day of rest and you got to go with the hot hand.

So now I definitely think it should go Stras-Gio-Max. Take advantage of hot hand and the fact that Gio is better at home. And give max a chance to rest.

Strasburg is the one with the calf issue. Max has the neck thing

Scherzer went out with a leg issue. I’m not sure if it’s his calf, but it definitely appeared to be his leg.

Hammy.

Kudos to Murphy for spotting his body language and interrupting the at bat.

I sure hope Max is okay for the playoffs.  Doesn't sound like it's a definite with a calf injury.  If Murphy hadn't of interfered, Max would have continued pitching.

Scherzer was hit on the calf with a line drive several weeks ago.

Max said it is "too soon" to say he would be ready for game 1 but seemed upbeat.

No bueno IMO. Hoping for the best.

We were sittin' in 202.    From there, we could see Max was steppin' gingerly.    We weren't sure what it was but he was takin' gentle steps.   Talking to the neighbor this morning.    Told him I can understand pullin' a hammy in the cool last night.   Almost happened to me walkin' down the steps from the Loft.      If we have to start Stras in game one?      Well, we'll just have to deal with it.    :)

MRI reveals Minor hamstring tweak per ESPN.  Uncertain for game 1

Well, that likely means he misses the whole post season then, given how overly optimistic early Nats medical info is.
If he would be out, who's our fourth starter?  I'd hate to rely on Jackson, almost would prefer Cole.

Of course. Now all we need is for Strasburg to get pulled in Game 1 for a blister.

Given it will probably be in the 80's for Game 1, cramps in about the fifth inning are certainly possible.   With Max if he's not ready in six days, is he likely to be much better in seven?  Max even saying he doesn't know if he'll be ready is a very bad sign in my eyes, along with at least some positive finding on the MRI.  I was feeling pretty optimistic about the post season, but that's fading fast.

This is why home field in the NLDS was important...so fans could get to see 2 postseason games in person this year...

In Zucks article max basically said he felt fine but is waiting for further diagnosis before he can commit to game 1.

Somehow I don't find that reassuring.
