Scherzer definitely in Game 1.

Are Stras or Gio drastically better at home or away? If not, just go Stras then Gio. If so, start the better home pitcher Game 2(could also start Game 5 if needed), and the better road starter Game 3.

Game 4 would be Roark and a conglomerate of relievers. If we're down 2-1 maybe Scherzer starts and pitches 5 innings or so.

I think Gio is better at home and Stras better on the road if I ain't mistaken.

So, this is interesting. Stras has faced the exact same number of batters on the road as he has at Nats park. Stras is basically the same pitcher home and road. He's given up a couple more homers at home, so that skews the numbers a tick in favor of his road starts. His WHIP and K/9 are virtually identical. He's had a couple of bad starts and those have all come at home, but his most dominant performances of the year have come at home, too. I think he's just who he is, regardless of home or road environment.

What are we thinking the rotation looks like at this point?  I think it's pretty locked up that it's Max, Stras, Gio and Roark, but in what order?  Right now, SS pitches the day before MS.  Kind of awkward to get that flipped and keep everyone on semi-normal work and rest.  Does Stras start game 1 and Max game 2?  Easier that way, and Stras is on normal rest for a game 5 if necessary, and he's pitching at least as well as Max anyway.  Plus, then Max is lined up for a game 1 of the NLCS if that comes to pass.  How would getting them flipped at this point work?

That's the order.

The order of the 4 is a lock.  Max is the unquestioned #1.  Stras already was the #2, and he's been the best pitcher on the planet for a month now.  He's on fire.  Gio has had a fantastic season, so he's clearly the #3 ahead of Roark.  Roark is clearly the guy ahead of Jackson as #4.

I do wonder if we'd consider using Scherze on 3 days rest instead of Roark at some point?

Is Gio better at home than on the Road? Is Strasburg? If Gio is better at home and Stras doesn’t matter, I might put Gio game 2

I hear that the ranking of the 4 is a lock, fair enough.   But how to we get them in that order?  It's at least mildly disruptive.  Stras is scheduled for tomorrow, and Max for Sunday.  Does Max go on shorter rest before a final start, and Stras on longer rest?  Solve it through side sessions?  If they really are wedded to Max first and Stras second, shouldn't they have found time during the 6-man rotation to get them into the right order?

It shouldn't be disruptive at all. Right now Max is to start the next to last game of the season. Stras second to last. With four days off from the last game to the season to Game 1 of the NLDS, it shouldn't be an issue to stack it however you want. If you want to make sure the four playoff starters get a start in that series vs. Pittsburgh, that should be fairly simple do manipulate by flipping Roark (giving him an extra day's rest) and Jackson (pitching him on normal rest) for their last starts. If you do that, you'll have Roark, Stras, Max, Gio the last four games.

If we're down 2-1 after 3 yes. If we're up 2-1 maybe not.

If Jackson is on the postseson roster then we don't deserve to win, for plain stupidity.  He is garbage.  Putrid garbage.

Who’s the game 1 starter? I think It should probably be Strasburg. It’s a good problem to have, though.

He will start Max in Game 1, just like JW will man left field.  Standard Decisions...
