I don't know if this is a prize we want to win.   I feel like we're set up well to beat the Cubs.

The Diamond Backs coming in hot off a momentum building WC win, while we are waiting around getting tight scares me a bit.

Standings for home field - All MLB

Dodgers lose to philly, 7-5, but Cubs eliminated from best record chase with the loss to the Rays, 8-1. Indians, Astros, :w: , Red Sox win.

      Team      Record GB             Clinched Division?
1. Dodgers   96-56   ---         No  (D-backs 8.5 GB)
2. Cleveland 95-57     1             Yes
3. Houston    93-58    2.5          Yes
4. :w:           92-59     3.5         Yes
5.  Boston     88-64     8           No  (NYY 3 GB)
6.  ChiCubs   84-67    11.5         No (Mil 3.5 GB, St L 5 GB) -eliminated from best record.

Tragic numbers for :w: - for 1st - 8, for 2d - 19, for 3d - 11.
Magic numbers for :w:  - for NL Central - 4, for AL East - 7.

with every division leader winning last night except the Dodgers, all make up 1 game in the best record standing and all magic / tragic numbers drop by 1 except v. the Dodgers.

Find a way to win that Saturday 3-2 game v. the Dodgers, and we are 1 game back of LA in the loss column and are tied with the Astros for 3d best record.

It's hard to imagine that a so-called contender can get swept by the Phillies.  At this point, if the Dodgers play the D'backs, the D'backs should probably be favored.

Darvish has pitched well his last two games. Wood is pitching good also. I never thought their lineup was that imposing. Several of their guys have come back to earth. Seager is really struggling also.

Everyone seems to assume AZ will win the wild card game. It's just one game and anythjng can happen. Milwaukee closing in on the other wild card spot.

10 games left for LA. Let's give them a 4-6 record to get them to 100 wins.  Nats would need to go 9-2, unless we have the tie-breaker. On the other hand, I think Cleveland ends up with the best record, and give the Astros nearly a 50/50 shot at finishing ahead of the LAD too.

Nats apparently have the tiebreaker due to better division record.

I'd like to see us at finish at least ahead of Houston for home field in the WS if they win the AL.  I think we get the tiebreaker by winning the head-to-head series.  Cleveland is going to be hard to catch.
