And that's really the point of expanded rosters. That's probably all this is about.

The Nats view it as a reward...which is why they left Danny off the expanded roster several years ago.

Victor Robles will be the first MLB player who was born after The Notorious B.I.G. died. Biggie died 3/9/97. Robles was born 5/19/97.

Good lord, I am definitely getting old.

Robles is a lot of fun to watch, and he's improved massively from even a year ago.  I remember seeing some of the routes he was taking in Potomac last year and just shaking my head.  Not so much anymore.

They need to brief him on important things.  Like steering clear of you and spider.  And staying out of the shower.

Would be nice. I've always wondered what goes through manager's minds when they call someone up and sit them on the bench. I get that you may need a bench player, but I would be trying to get the new guy his first game ASAP. Get it over with, get the lumps out of his stomach, and then see what you have.

Me too.    Hopefully we can get a big lead and Dusty will give him some time in the field as well.    I loved it last night when he tipped his hat.    He ain't startin' tonight:

SS Trea Turner (R)
LF Howie Kendrick (R)
2B Daniel Murphy (L)
1B Ryan Zimmerman (R)
3B Anthony Rendon (R)
C Matt Wieters (S)
CF Michael Taylor (R)
RF A. De Aza (L)
P Max Scherzer (R)

We'd appreciate it if ya didn't mention both those thoughts in the same post.     :)

What is the point of calling him up and letting De Aza get back to back starts? De As is on track to be on postseason roster but it isn't like he has a chance of getting in rhythm and starting to hit. He's a late inning sub who is solid in the field and on the bases.

Give Robles some time. I'd even rather Difo getting the start over De Aza.

what is the point of nagging about it? why does it have to be right now? he's experiencing a lot right now just being in the dugout and clubhouse. it's not like he's ready to contribute right away. he's going to get some playing time after the team clinches.

This guy was in single A 3 months ago. Maybe give him a bit of time to acclimate to a major league dugout before throwing him out to start games?

If you're going to start his MLB clock already, then get him in the lineup. If you're not going to play him, then don't pretty much guarantee he's going to be a super 2 in arbitration by calling him up for a handful of pinch hitting appearances and a start or two. If that's what they do then this one is likely on Rizzo more than the manager. The kid has shown some serious poise his first couple of plate appearances. Might as well throw him into the OF and run with it for a week.

I would love to see an OF of Stevenson, Bautista, and Robles for a game or two, especially after we've clinched and passed the Dodgers.

I understand not callin' him up because of the clock thing but keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeriste   ...  please stop with the "he's only 20 years old and inexperienced" bullcrap.    Dusty sez he's gonna start "the kids" today.    Do it.      Dusty supposedly smoked reefer with Hendrix at 19.    This "kid" can handle the bigs at 20.

Nothing wrong with bringing him up to sit a couple days and then play.

I'm fine with it if that's what they're doing. Giving him a chance to learn where everything is and settle into his routine before starting him would be great for the kid.

Don't most players have a different routine when they know they're not playing than their routine when they expect to start?
