Hate using all three of our late game guys on a night like this.
A chance of making it interesting, but not a real chance of actually taking top spot. Playing the wild card team vs playing the Cubs is probably more consequential, but not sure which is the better option.
Why are we, they need the work?
Doolittle has been sucking in non-save situations. Mindfact? Let's see.
The manager doesn't understand how to handle a pitching staff. Never has.
Is Dusty Voldemort? Why can’t you say his name?
He's not good enough at his job to be acknowledged. Like most of his career, he's got a team loaded with talent and they win despite him much more than because of him. Freaking great catch by De Aza.

Charlie Manuel won a world series. And the dolt in KC. You don't have to be a genius. Handling the gentle egos is just as important as strategy and Dusty does that well.
What eggos ?

Ok, I’m going to say something crazy. If results hold tonight, the Nats will be 9 games behind the Dodgers. Nats have 7 games against Phillies and 6 games against Braves and 3 games vs. Mets. If the Nats cam find a way to sweep the Dodgers or at least take 2 of 3, this could become interesting for home field. Especially as Nats continue to get healthier. Especially if Dodgers continue to play like they have been.
Even if they advanced that far, the only ones who would benefit from it would be the Lerners by getting an extra home date. It's not like home field has proven to help this team advance in the past. I don't understand why people are so obsessed with it. It just affords us the opportunity (agony) of watch a visiting team swarm the mound in celebration of clinching the series.
