Bullpen challenge
« Topic Start: May 18, 2007, 09:45:52 AM »
The bullpen's been awesome lately, but they are facing what would seem to be an extreme challenge - to handle starting and their normal duties for 3 straight games.  We are down to 2 starters for the next week, and the bullpen will start Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

This is not a good thing.  They are going to be completely worn out by Sunday.

Simontacchi, who pitches tonight, simply must go deep, and yet for him to go a full 6 is about all that could be expected.

I don't think we even have anybody we can leave out there to take one for the team, do we?  Bowden needs to do something, methinks.  This situation could hurt the team for the next several weeks if we don't get reinforcements somehow.  Any bright ideas out there?  By the way, Reading was awful again in his last start, era is back over 7.00.  Bacsik's last start was poor, too.  Where is Astacio, extended spring training?
