One reason why this year's model hasn't been able to gain ground on the 2012 edition is that from 2nd through 21st August (during which their 67th win occurred), the 2012 edition went 16-4 and never lost back-to-backs. Assuming the 2017 edition keeps up its current pace, they may be able to catch the 2012's afterward since that 16-4 run was followed by a five-match losing streak.
