Some guy was telling me last week the reason Rendon wears 6 is because he was drafted sixth. I guess he was wrong.

Yeah, I’m not sure that a guy who came into his senior year projected as a #1 would celebrate falling to number 6

I've seen guys do that to remind them of the "adversity" they overcame, or to prove everyone that "overlooked" them wrong.

Don't think that's the case here, though.

"I actually hate the No. 6"
Later in the quote...
"I don't hate it, it's just not my favorite."

Tony is talking like a true DC politician haha.

Let's just say Tony doesn't strike me as the one to solve the Middle East conflict.

He'd just grin and say ELE...everybody love everybody.  Could work.

Listen to an interview about the Nationals Baseball Center (whatever that's called). Grant and Danny did one a couple of weeks ago.

He sounds like a whole different guy.

Let's just say Tony doesn't strike me as the one to solve the Middle East conflict.

I suspect he is a really bright guy. He didn't get into Rice as a total dummy. Even as a baseball player. I read something a few years ago where he picked up playing the guitar overnight.  I think he is just very shy.

Rendon doesn't enjoy talking to the media. That's actually a pretty DC thing. Apart from a relatively small number of Senators and Congressmen who enjoy the limelight, most of us swamp creatures distrust the media and don't talk to reporters.

Kimnat and The Chief had no problem warming up to the camera at that WNFF meetup at RFK back in the day.

If they do, then I would think they let them keep the old ones.  Those become collector items.  Frank Howard's Jersey with 33 is a dime a dozen but try to find one with 9.

Yeah. All leagues do this I think. They made Chad Johnson do that when he changed name to Ochocinco.
