Is his name HH Holmes? :stir:

I bet there was one person in the stadium that thought the injury was funny. :?

I can't believe some of you are nagging about the fact that they played this game. And some of the same ones nagging are always nagging about rainouts and off days. :smh:

How was your day?

Ramos literally jumped up and down. No one took him out. He landed on level ground. Ramos was fragile as glass.

You could argue the throw was bad because the ball was wet, but given the thrower...

I’m not nagging about them playing the game. Or anything really.  It’s just unlucky. But I think they could evaluate whether or not to make first base lower. There are probably reasons why it might not work, but it’s at least worth a look.

It was pointless lol. It's friggin 10 PM and it's raining. There was far more reason to not play this game than some of the other ones they postponed this season.

Same.  What is it about this city?  What did we do to deserve this?

It seems odd that we'd even have Bryce in the game in a situation like this. Major delay, wet field, still raining, practically meaningless game...seemed like just a boneheaded decision. Oh well, what's done is done.

Plenty on this forum get mad when the good players rest too.

:lmao:  Okay, THAT was good on a day that I think Virginia will be in quite a hurry to forget.

So the 900 runs looks a little less likely now, eh spider?

I don't believe they would've reached it anyway because of our huge lead in the division (and not being able to catch the dodgers) and they would be playing september callups to end the season.

This just seemed like one of those situations where maybe it just wasn't worth it to have those guys out there.

So our 3 starting outfielders are pretty much done.  Exciting times.

Game 114 is not pointless.

They're 14 games up on a terrible division. It would take divine intervention for them to miss the playoffs. It was pointless to have Bryce in this game.

I mean can you really punt the last 50 games? The lead is so big, all these games would be “meaningless.” You’ve got to play these guys sometimes. It’s bad luck.

Agreed. There have been many games played in less than ideal conditions. This was a freak accident. Yeah it's crappy but players have been injured on perfectly dry fields too.

But in the rain when you've got a doubleheader looming in the same 24 hour period?
