I watched it a bunch of times on both broadcasts and thought it looked like it went over his glove. I think he just whiffed on it.

Maybe. Looked like it changed direction but maybe that was just the spin on the ball?

Could have been. It didn't look like it to me. The angle tight on Goodwin chasing it, the glove never reacted to a ball hitting it.

Fortunately, it didn't end up costing the Nats anything...
