Nice they finally got a new stadium.

I believe all the World Cup games are on either Fox or FS1.  And Telemundo of course. GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL LLLL

Every once in a while, I watch the games on Telemundo to see what I can interpret (easy lessons).    Drives the missus crazy.   Which is another good reason to do it.

like minty, I always recommend CCSP.  Draws fans from all over, has enough TVs.  I'm not sure what they are doing for sound for games, but they are set up with sub areas so they probably could do the sound for simultaneous games in different areas like they do for March Madness.

With World Cup upon us I will cheer on the following teams.

South Korea--to make the wife happy; unlikely they can move on being in the same group with Mexico and Germany.
Mexico--to make SIL happy.  Would also be fun to see them get past the round of 16.
Argentina--I like Messi.  Tired of seeing him blamed for his teammates missing open nets and such.  Maybe he will come through like Ovi did.
England--just because it's been so long since they have had success and the sport is so important to them.
Any underdog that makes it out of their group.

Some interesting games the first weekend.

On the ride from Wiehle to the end of the line on the bus   ....   my driver was from Morocco.    Great soccer conversation.

   That's what I was thinkin' when I read the story.    He was a pretty nice guy.   Our conversation (while I was waitin' at the end of the line to start the ride), was very pleasant.    I think we could have continued with our soccer chat in good form.    As a matter of fact, I could understand his feeling of Morocco gettin' hosed.

His boys play Iran Friday at 11. Catch the bus Saturday and you can continue the conversation.

Ironically, I have a soccer conflict.  My daughter's game is at 10:15 and I coach so it's not like we can skip it.

Plus, when you have kids it's kinda tough to start drinking and chanting at 10:00 a.m.

Understand. Hope you can DVR it. I assume their will be replays somewhere also.

I like it being in Europe. The game times work well for me. And don't interfere with weekday evening baseball.

I'm ok with Nashville. The kids might end up back there so have to keep an open mind. And they have NHL hockey.

The World Cup just isn't the same without Arjen Robben diving controversies and Gigi Buffon's killing it with the Italian anthem.  Some suplots endure though...like will Suarez bite Salah on Friday or settle for smaller fry?

That's the only reason I will watch. I would like a pre game shot of Suarez filing his incisors.
