I like him in that super utility role and he's done a fine job starting in place of Turner. I'm happy and pleasantly surprised with his development.

If all of section 312 wore these, it would beat the shark costumes for Bernadina.

I'm totally gonna make one. And by "make" I mean "buy on eBay and paint a curly W on it."   I tried to get the "Are We Not Men?" chant started on Sunday with one of my gal pals but my husband and her fiance both started kicking us because they hate joy. refused to join in because most of the people in our section didn't get the reference.

I think he could give us what Espinosa used to with a slightly weaker glove but much better bat that also is developing some power.  He did look like a AAAA player, but then Turner and Drew both went down and he filled in and gained confidence.  I love his energy he brings to the table.  I think his speed is something that could be utilized a lot more on the basepaths in the future.  He can play 2B, SS, 3B, and I think easily could take some flyballs and be adequate in LF with his athleticism.  I mean we stick Lind out there.  Next year instead of spending decent money to bring back an oft-injured Drew as the backup utility IF, we have Difo for cheap and can also use him as an emergency OF.  I'd be happy with a bench consisting of Lind returning, Goodwin as the 4th OF with MAT in CF and Eaton in LF, and Difo as the utility guy.  I'd like a top-flight catcher acquired and Severino as the backup.

An obscure Devo reference?

And about hating joy.

Sadly this isn't going to happen!

Devo is coming to the 9:30 Club this fall, I believe. I saw them there in the late '80s, iirc. I will refrain from stating whether joy was had that evening.

Unless Lind takes less money or loves it here, I doubt he is back here. A bunch of second division clubs will offer him money to DH or play 1b after his year this year.

Him and Difo are a buddy comedy waiting to be written. Those two are like inseparable

If Severino is not the back up all year next year we need to trade him. This should be Loby's last year here because the kid needs to play some

It was more about the starter than the back up.

Hell of a month. Could this guy be legit?

You could definitely use him to justify letting Drew go.

I wonder what he'd called his brother Maurice.

Since moving into the starting lineup, Wilmer Difo is hitting .354/.423/.500 with a 13/19 BB/K ratio in 113 plate appearances. Despite what some people say, I'm not so sure that the window of opportunity closes after next season if Bryce and Daniel Murphy leave.

I don't think we'll completely suck, but if we were to lose both Harper and Murphy we'd drop off from NL contenders to fringe playoff team. We wouldn't be 09-10 bad though.

We can definitely be competitive, but our margin of error is much more thin, that's all. Will take some crafty work to get us to the promised land. We could have a core of Turner/Rendon and hope that Difo/Robles/Goodwin/Stevenson/Taylor/whoever develop into decent players.

It mostly hinges on how soon Scherzer and Strasburg become Verlander and Sabathia.
