I like Goodwin.

Have to imagine one of him or Taylor are traded in the off-season.

BOTH Dave as TV fill-in and Charlie as radio play-by-play just called the same play a "booming" double.

If the Nats trade Goodwin then they just need to find a fourth outfielder.

Yes, I am.  Run expectancy (2016 actual data) with a runner on 2nd, no outs - 1.0932.   Run expectancy with a runner on 3rd, 1 out  - 0.9225

Why enter into a strategy that is designed to reduce your run potential?

I expect us to acquire a veteran, proven, OF. Whichever isn't traded begins the year as the 4th OF.

Why? One plays CF and the other is our 4th OF. Which is which will be decided when Werth gets back and in ST 2018.

Gio seems like one of the most mental pitchers I've ever watched. He relies so much on "how he feels" or where he's pitching (in front of home town). Also...his desire to make the All Star game because it was in Miami points to this.

Dave sounds a lot like Bob Wolff...Washington TV and radio broadcaster 1947 - 1960, radio broadcaster for last few innings of Don Larsen's perfect game, NBC game of the week with Joe Garagiola, Hall of Fame. The real broadcasting Bob said that when he did TV in the '50s, his job was to emphasize the picture. The focus was the game and he spoke to the tension and the story of the game, but he was never supposed to fill time or draw attention to himself.

I'm imagining that Dave J. wants to ignore FP and hope that FP will not lead us into "game on" etc.

I think we were "kids" around the same time.    Did the DC guys switch every 3 innings between TV and radio?    I remember Bob Prince doing 3 innings on TV in the middle of a game.

Classic FP junk talk: "...this is the kind pf pitcher".  Dave doe not reply. FP-ism dies in the air. Intentional?

Sure, but it's the starting point - and Difo isn't exactly laying down lately.  I rather like his chances to put the ball in play productively, as opposed to making an intentional out.
