It absolutely sucked the toll that took on this poor guy's life but it does seem in accepting the ring and issuing that very gracious statement that he is ready to openly be a Cubbie fan again.

At which point I can stop feeling sorry for him...  ;)

I think them winning it all finally has made the difference, why would he want to come last year and if they lost people would dredge up "Bartman cursed us again!"

In my experience, this is not true, but I think every team is different.


As far as I know the rings given to staffers (and some teams have given rings to ushers and parking attendants) are not the same but it's possible that given the circumstances surrounding Bartman, that they chose to give him one just like the ones the players got.

you look at the Rizzo version and Bartman version you'll see a different decorating pattern.  Bartman's has ivy leaves decorating around the W flag over the brick wall, Rizzo's has his number and has some sort of lines drawn in star shapes.  I'm going to guess there's a difference in the inlayed stones around the top, too.
