Watching him pitch tonight, he reminded me a lot of Sean Burnett. The stuff actually looks very similar. Both the fastball and the slider have very similar movement and speed (Burnett may have been a tick faster on the fastball but not much).

Even if Nats have worst pitching coaches ever, I imagine it would take more than 2 games to break a pitcher.

I think the people who were worried about Madson there have just been shell shocked by this season. Good relievers tend to get the job done even if they let a runner or two on in the process.
