Now I shall return to this thread's most worthy topic by pointing out that Bob & Edith's is still going strong on Columbia Pike, although Jay's Saloon is no longer standing in Clarendon.  Basically, don't go to Clarendon for any reason, unless you want to go to a corporate bar to hang out with wasted bros.

I had a few friends who lived right next to the Clarendon-Courthouse stop on the Orange line back circa 2010 or so.

Bob and Edith's is within walking distance of my niece's new home.       I lived in the Lyon Village area for years and used to go to Clarendon pretty regularly (Sears, etc.).     Man, it's totally different now.

It's totally different everywhere along Wilson and Clarendon from Rosslyn through to Ballston.  Utterly unrecognizable in many parts except from the odd drunk-food joint that survived the occupation (e.g., Mario's).  Lee has changed less, but the insufferable people on the county board who want to turn the entire county into a homogenized mess of corporate apartments, bro bars, and a CVS on every block are coming for that next.
