Difo should have taken one to the knee, then.

Yep....that first pitch

Does Treinen have options left?

Yes. But it doesn't matter. Throwing strikes has never been his thing. DFA him or he will just take up a spot in AAA from someone who might be able to pitch to a 4.50 ERA this year.

When I go to the game I see a fair number of folks with ear buds listening to the mellifluous sounds of C&D.

Now C & D and Phil are talking about attendance.    Phil's throwin' in an Oreos reference.     Piss on 'em all.

So for everyone on this board, THAT was a bad loss.

It was certainly below average.

No. It's slightly better then awful but worse then "meh".

In a season with many pathetic losses, which ownership tolerates, this ranks near the top.  And now its probaly too late to fix, as very few options exist.   You can either drastically overpay, and sill likely fail and cripple the franchise in the future, or stay put and fail in your waning opportunities to succeed.   In neither of these scenarios is success a possible outcome.  I had more faith in the team than this.  I never grasped how much dysfunction there was until recently.   The Lerners really do view this as a shopping mall, not an entity that people really care about.   I think I'm going to start viewing it the same way.  Such a shame for the fans and players who really care much more than the owners.   Yeah yeah we still have a big divisional lead. And there is still time before the deadline.  So what.

who cares.  rather he didn't, although the obvious point is this organization wouldn't just cut/dfa him...

While a .250 RISP isn't ideal, it isn't god awful.  I don't blame Treinan either.   Ownership has known about a major fundamental flaw since the off season and done nothing or actively blocked attempts to fix it.

Missed the last part of the game.  Thank goodness.  Tough to split a series that they should have swept. Get something done Rizzo.

Could be.  I did it intentionally to force Rizzo into making a move.

Trea's injury is truly bad, but the bullpen is a killer. Make some trades now. The Nats need at least two more relievers...one "closer" won't fix things.

I'm still trying to figure out why Dusty used Romero and Albers on Wednesday night.

Only had a 4 run lead...

I get the feeling Dusty doesn't trust Albers in high leverage situations, despite him having clearly been the best performer in the bunch.  He probably  thought a four run lead was enough of a cushion that he could use him.
