**Must not start quoting This is Spinal Tap...**

It's a great place if you can go when it's not too busy. Tranquil.

This is Spinal Tap (1984) will be aired on cable TV's Turner Classic Movies (TCM) channel tomorrow night at Wed 10:00 pm Eastern Time USA.

Tony Hendra played the group manager, Ian Faith. His son, Nick, attended American University in Washington DC and was on the basketball team 2007-2011. I met Tony at his son's games there.

Tony co-wrote the book Last Words (2009) with comedian George Carlin, which was published about 17 months after Carlin's death. Tony Hendra was a writer and editor of National Lampoon magazine in the 1970s.

Nick Hendra wore jersey #21 - they should have given him #11...

I see that and raise you:

I've seen bits and pieces, but I've never watched the entire film through.  All I really recall is the Straight to 11 bit, that's the first I've seen of the Stonehenge scene.

If Rusty goes, we could do a lot worse than have Ian Faith as manager.

He does get confused between feet and inches though.

I'm surprised at all of the cheering given that Gio's friends & fam are probably about 25% of the crowd.

Well, as I mentioned above to mitlen I can't recommend it highly enough.

It probably helps to have a bit of a knowledge of rock/NWOBHM to get all the jokes. But the guys that made it are American and totally got the farce of these people down to a tee. Reading some big name biographies well after the fact and most of them that are the butt of a joke or two acknowledged how close some of that film was to reality.

Taylor has really taken advantage of the opportunity to play.
